Plymouth Chamber Names Mary Martin as New Executive Director
Mary Martin has been selected as the Executive Director of the Plymouth Chamber. She will replaceLisa Hurley, who will be departing from the Chamber as of February 1, 2012, to pursue new opportunities with HomeCare Health Services & Hospice. Martin most recently was the Marketing Manager at the Wade House Historic Site in Greenbush, Wisconsin. In this position, she created and executed advertising, promotion, public relations and marketing plans. She also assisted with event planning and coordination. She has more than fourteen years experience as a marketing professional, including non-profit businesses and corporate and healthcare related industries. As the Executive Director Martin will work with the more than three hundred and fifty members, board of directors and committees to continue to provide the benefits and services of Plymouth’s premier business organization.
She will be introduced to the Plymouth Chamber membership at the Chamber's Annual Dinner and Meeting held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at The Osthoff Resort.
Budweiser Classic Race of Champions - Feb 4
Get ready for some cool winter fun at the Budweiser Classic Race of Champions! The Great Northern Sno-X Series will headline this event. We anticipate 140 entries. The Wisconsin Kitty Cat Racers and non-sanctioned vintage classes will also be included. Please note that the races have moved to a NEW LOCATION which is Ranger Park (Highway 57 and County Truck C) just east of Fleet Farm. Enter at the wayside. Heated concession stand available. Hot Time in the Old Town - Feb 10
Get toasty and help support Plymouth's local brave firemen while roasting tasty hot dogs and gooey marshmallows! Event will be held from 5 pm- 8 pm. A fireman's boot will be onsite for you to drop your monetary donation in. Eight fire barrels will be set up along Mill Street downtown. Meet our local firemen and have a treat. Your generous donations will be applied towards the upkeep of the Plymouth Fire Department's infrared camera.
A Taste of Chocolate - Feb 12
Sample delicious homemade chocolate desserts and snacks. Enjoy live music by Smooth Groove. Event will be held from 2-5pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Cost is $15 for advanced ticket which includes a cookbook with recipes of all items! There are a limited number of tickets so get yours today. If the event is not sold out, tickets at the door will be $20 per person. Tickets can be purchased at Plymouth's Piggly Wiggly, St. John's Lutheran Church Office, CPN Hair Studio, Thrivent Financial Offices (Plymouth and Sheboygan locations) and Sheboygan's Big Apple Bagels and Crossroads Community Church. Workshop for Individuals Living With Chronic Health Conditions
This workshop, created at Stanford University, is designed for people who have one or more chronic conditions. The workshop empowers those living with conditions like arthritis, heart problems, asthma, stroke, pain, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, emphysema, and cancer and helps them take control of their situation through symptom management;
dealing with anger, depression, and other emotions;
goal setting and problem solving;
improving nutrition and developing a suitable exercise program;
medication management;
breathing exercises and managing stress;
communicating with family, friends, and health care professionals.Guests are welcome to bring a friend, relative, or caregiver to the sessions. The workshop has been clinically proven to reduce hospitalizations and other medical problems. Registration is limited. The workshop meets for 2 ½ hours, once a week, for six weeks, on March 13, 20, 27 and April 3, 10 & 17 from 6-8:30pm. Trained leaders Julie Deterding and Joan Ketterman facilitate the workshop, which will be held at Aurora Sheboygan Clinic, 2314 Kohler Memorial Drive in the Chinook Room, Sheboygan. Snowmobiling
Check trail conditions. Snowmobilers enjoy a system of paths that are marked with highway signs.
Access points and trailer parking include: The Sheboygan Marsh Park, Elkhart
Lake, and the recreation trail, along State Highway 23. Parking is available at Ranger
Park and the wayside located at Highway 57 and County Highway C, east of Fleet Farm.
The Kettle
Moraine State Forest offers 58 miles of groomed trails. Learn more about the Northern Kettle Moraine Snowmobile Association (NKMSNOW).

Nutt Hill offers a heated shelter for warming up and grabbing a soda, hot chocolate or snack. On Thursdays, the entire family skis for only $20 (city resident) or $25 (non-resident). Take Highway 23 west, exit Highway 67. Turn right at stop sign. Turn west on West Main St. Follow West Main St. to the very top of hill. Call to make sure the ski hill is open. 3-Day Watercolor Workshop Held April 30 - May 2
Bridget Austin will blend demonstrations of planning compositions, brushwork, layering values in negative painting, and saving the white of the paper. Subjects will include flowers and/or still life, landscapes, and buildings. Daily demos, plenty of painting time, personal and group help, a laugh or two, and the joy of painting for three days. Classes will be held from 9-4pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. . Bridget has enjoyed painting her watercolors of flowers, nature studies, landscapes and travels for over 30 years. She achieved Master Status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and has exhibited with the American and National Watercolor Societies, as well as being a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society. This class is designed for painters with some watercolor experience. Classes will be held at the Plymouth Arts Center. View Registration Form.

Experience the musical talents of students in the Plymouth School District during upcoming winter band and choral concerts. Riverview School is located at 300 Riverside Circle. Plymouth High School is located at 125 Highland Avenue. The following concerts are free and open to the public:

The Community Ed and Recreation Program is now available showing general education, fitness, aquatic and family and youth activities offered. Unless otherwise indicated, classes are open to everyone. Persons over 62 years of age or older may claim a fee reduction of 20% on all classes. Senior citizens must reside in the Plymouth Joint School District to qualify for this discount.
